So I figured I'll have to change the bulb in 1.5-2 years (considering it lasts less than the average time they mention) which is acceptable. Regarding bulb life it shouldn't be a problem, I don't intend using it more than 2-3 hours/day and it says it lasts 3000 hours.

#TUTORIAL TRIDEF 3D 720P#
As for the 720p ones the difference in price between those that are not 3D-Ready and those that are is negligible so I said that since I'm already paying for a projector that is 3D-Ready I might as well be able to use the 3D functions properly.
#TUTORIAL TRIDEF 3D 1080P#
The thing is I definitely can't afford 1080p so that means I have to settle with 720p. Having said all that, I'll go ahead and try some titles on a 3d projector vs 3d LCD screen and report back.

Will you be able to afford next bulb straight away? Something to also consider is the bulb life - it has an average time, but can fail far sooner. If I were on a budget, I'd stick to having good 2d and 'normal' gaming experience.
#TUTORIAL TRIDEF 3D MOVIE#
On the movie side, there is very few titles where 3d makes a difference. Typically 3D on projectors, especially cheap ones is not great.Īlso something to bear in mind is in 3D you only get half the resolution per eye so if the projector is low res you only get half that in 3d.įinally most games are awkward in 3d - for example crosshair in FPP is something like a meter or two in front of you making it a bit harder to aim. Besides the projector, the GPU and the DLP-Link glasses is TriDef the only other thing I need for this to work? how do I connect everything and what software I need. That's why I want to understand which one looks and behaves better, AMD or NVidia and how do I do this exactly. I have an i5-2400 CPU and a 23" Samsung TN Monitor as other specs.Īctually more like $600 where I'm from, most electronics are a bit overpriced but yes, it seems like a good deal for my basic needs: a movie or the occasional 3D game for cheap. Don't know exactly how I should connect the projector either, HDMI or DVI - the BenQMW523 that I'm thinking about supports both Frame Sequential and Frame Packing, it says it has HDMI 1.4a also.Īnd of course I intend to watch 3D movies also, probably even more than gaming but I assume both do that just as well. Note that I'm a complete 3D noob so any addition is greatly appreciated. or an exact tutorial on how everything works. To me it seems TriDef works great and has a long list of supported games and I'd go for R9 with TriDef but I have not found that many ressources about it. On one hand I'd go with the R9 because it is faster but on the other hand I have doubts because most reviews talk about Nvidia 3DTV Play and how well it behaves. I don't know that much about gaming in 3D and although I have read plenty of posts I'm still not sure about what to chose. At the same time I want to upgrade my GPU and I have yet to decide between R9 280X and GTX 760/770.

I know the projector is not 1080p but I can't quite afford those and I'm not picky, I don't intend projecting on a very big surface anyway. I want to buy a relatively cheap 3D-Ready projector (something like BenQ MW523) and some compatible DLP-Link 3d glasses.
